2020-21 School Year
Q: what will the new school your look like? (7.10.20)
A: We are currently creating plans that will coincide with each state mandated phase that will follow all Cdc, state and local health requirements. There is a possibility that throughout the school year the phases may change and we will have a plan ready to easily transition into each phase.
Q: Will there be kindergarten screenings? (7.10.20)
A: YES. We are still working on how to meet with future kindergarten students and parents. we will contact those that have completed the registration information as soon as we are able. Children that are 5 years old before september 1, 2020, may be registered for kindergarten. Call 360-748-7029.

SCREENINGS
Q: Do all students and staff members need to be screened for illness each day? (7.3.2020)
A: Yes. DOH, L&I and WIAA require students and staff to receive a health screening before entering a school. DOH and L&I follow guidance from the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which allows for health screening to be performed at home before school or on-site. If health screenings are done at home, the process needs to include attestation confirming the child or staff member does not have fever, shortness of breath, or cough. Whether screenings occur at home or on-site, school personnel should always be looking for visual signs of illness (flushed cheeks, rapid or difficulty breathing, fatigue, and cough) throughout the school day.
Q: Are temperature checks a requirement element for screening? (7.3.2020)
A: Yes. Whatever screening methodologies are used by a school district, they must include a temperature check in either the attestation or the on-site screening.
FACE COVERING
Q: Are face coverings required to be worn at school by students and staff? (7.3.2020)
A: Yes. DOH requires everyone in a school building or on a school bus to wear a face covering, with specific exemptions identified in the guidance.
Q: Can students use a face shield instead of a cloth face covering? (7.3.2020)
A: Yes, though cloth face coverings have a superior ability to capture more droplets from speaking, coughing, sneezing, etc.

A: According to DOH, a cloth face covering is fabric that covers the nose and mouth. It can be :

A: Yes. A cloth face covering is the recommendation of the WA Department of Health.
PHYSICAL DISTANCING IN SCHOOL BUILDINGS
Q: Is six feet of physical distancing required as part of a school reopening plan? (7.3.2020)
A: Yes. Districts must arrange their physical spaces to accommodate six feet of distance when all students and staff are seated.
Q: When students are wearing face coverings, is six feet of distance still the expectation? (7.3.2020)
A: Yes. Face coverings combined with physical distancing increases health and safety, and both are DOH requirements.
HEALTH PROTECTIONS ON SCHOOL BUSES
Q: Are face coverings required on buses. (7.3.2020)
A: Yes. Like classrooms and common spaces in school buildings, students, drivers, and para-educators must wear face coverings while on the bus.
ATHLETICS
Q: Are Athletes conditioning at this time? (7.3.2020)
A: Yes. Those who have completed the required paperwork.
Q: I missed receiving the information regarding conditioning for student athletes. Can I STILL PARTICIPATES? (7.3.2020)
